Assistant Manager

We’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Manager to run the floor, support the team, and deliver unforgettable guest experiences.

At 850 Degrees, this is not a back-office role. You’ll be in the action, leading by example, keeping service smooth, and making sure every guest leaves wanting more.

What You’ll Do

Lead from the floor while running your own section (so you also earn tips).

Keep service efficient, positive, and guest-focused.

Train, coach, and support staff.

Assist with hiring and building team culture.

Handle guest concerns quickly and professionally.

Support promotions, events, and initiatives.

What You Bring

3+ years serving experience.

2+ years in a supervisory role.

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Dependable, organized, and calm under pressure.

Bonus: Management experience in restaurants or retail.

Kitchen Assistant

LongbranchFull-time $18.50–$20 / hour

The Role

We're hiring a washer-up / kitchen assistant to support our pizzaiolo and back-of-house team. This is a hands-on role for someone who moves with purpose, keeps a tidy station, and wants to learn the craft from people who take pizza seriously.

What You'll Do

Sweep and Mop floor and maintain the washrooms

Prep ingredients: washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning vegetables, proteins, and dough components

Assist the pizzaiolo on the line during service

Make starters and desserts to recipe and spec

Maintain a spotless kitchen: dishes, surfaces, floors, walls, and equipment

Receive deliveries, rotate stock, and organize the walk-in and dry storage

Move ingredients from storage to the line as needed

Follow all food safety and hygiene standards without compromise

Lift up to 25 kg comfortably and safely

What We're Looking For

Reliable, energetic, and a strong team player

Comfortable on your feet for full shifts in a hot, fast-paced kitchen

Solid time management and ability to work cleanly under pressure

Clear communicator who takes direction well and asks good questions

Food Handler Certification is preferred (we'll help you get certified if you don't have it)

Prior kitchen experience is a bonus but not required — attitude matters more than résumé

Great pizza deserves great people. We’re looking for friendly, experienced servers to help make our Bloor spot a neighbourhood favourite.

If you can make guests feel welcome, keep your cool during a busy dinner rush, and bring a little personality to the table, we’d love to meet you.

What you’ll be doing

Welcoming guests and making them feel at home.

Taking orders, recommending favourites, and keeping food and drinks flowing.

Working closely with the kitchen and your fellow servers.

Keeping your section clean, organized, and ready for the next round.

Handling payments and helping the team finish each shift strong.

What you bring

At least 2 years of restaurant serving experience.

Valid Smart Serve certification.

A warm personality and a dependable, team-first attitude.

Good communication and an eye for the little things.

Availability for evening and weekend shifts.

A love of pizza helps. Strong opinions about pineapple are optional.
