850 Degrees is opening a new Bloor Street West location, and we are looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to help lead the front-of-house team and support daily restaurant operations.
This is a hands-on management role. The successful candidate will work approximately 40 hours per week over five days. Three of those shifts will include serving a section and participating in tip-out, while two shifts will be focused on supervising, supporting the floor, assisting the team, and helping manage day-to-day operations.
We are looking for someone with strong restaurant service experience, natural leadership ability, and the confidence to help drive sales, maintain service standards, and create a positive guest and staff experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily restaurant shifts
Serve guests during three scheduled serving shifts per week
Supervise and support front-of-house and back-of-house staff
Maintain high standards of customer service and hospitality
Greet guests, resolve issues, and ensure a positive dining experience
Support communication between servers, kitchen staff, management, and ownership
Learn and maintain strong knowledge of the menu, wine list, cocktails, specials, and features
Coach staff on service standards, upselling, guest interaction, and company policies
Assist with onboarding, training, and development of new employees
Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback
Ensure staff comply with uniform, service, cleanliness, and workplace policies
Monitor safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
Help control operational costs and reduce waste
Track and communicate daily operational issues, guest feedback, and team concerns
Assist with ordering, supplies, uniforms, and future operational needs
Support sales growth, profitability, and the local reputation of the restaurant
Prepare or assist with weekly and monthly reporting as required
Help implement systems, policies, and procedures that support consistent restaurant operations
What We Are Looking For
Previous restaurant management, supervisor, or senior serving experience
Strong front-of-house service skills
Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced restaurant environment
Comfortable serving, supervising, coaching, and handling guest issues
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
Ability to manage multiple priorities during busy service periods
Knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and Italian cuisine is an asset
Experience with POS systems, scheduling, training, and restaurant reporting is an asset
Smart Serve certification required
Food Handler certification is an asset
Compensation
Annual salary
Tip-out eligibility on three serving shifts per week, in accordance with company tip-out policy
Full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week

What You Bring
3+ years serving experience.
2+ years in a supervisory role.

Kitchen Assistant
The Role
We're hiring a Washer up/Kitchen Assistant to support our pizzaiolo and back-of-house team. This is a hands-on role for someone who moves with purpose, keeps a tidy station, and wants to learn the craft from people who take pizza seriously.
What You'll Do
Sweep and Mop floor and maintain the washrooms
Prep ingredients: washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning vegetables, proteins, and dough components
Assist the pizzaiolo on the line during service
Make starters and desserts to recipe and spec
Maintain a spotless kitchen: dishes, surfaces, floors, walls, and equipment
Receive deliveries, rotate stock, and organize the walk-in and dry storage
Move ingredients from storage to the line as needed
Follow all food safety and hygiene standards without compromise
Lift up to 25 kg comfortably and safely
What We're Looking For
Reliable, energetic, and a strong team player
Comfortable on your feet for full shifts in a hot, fast-paced kitchen
Solid time management and ability to work cleanly under pressure
Clear communicator who takes direction well and asks good questions
Food Handler Certification is preferred (we'll help you get certified if you don't have it)
Prior kitchen experience is a bonus but not required — attitude matters more than résumé
